More Comment Fun

So I had this gem of a conversation with Pam this afternoon…

>5:16:06 PM Pam: wow… I missed a whole lot on your blog
>5:16:40 PM Jeremy: really? I’ve been pretty sporadic
>5:17:10 PM Pam: I don’t mean what YOU wrote… I meant the comments!
>5:17:28 PM Jeremy: LOL
>5:17:31 PM Pam: :)
>5:17:42 PM Jeremy: of course…upstaged by the comments….AGAIN
>5:18:07 PM Pam: that’s what it’s all about, isn’t it?
>5:19:06 PM Jeremy: so true…so true

As I wrote in my last post (about a day ago - we’re making progress) my website has started to take on a life of it’s own. The comment bonanza on yesterday’s post is further proof of this. Let’s be honest. Without the comment submissions this site would have been pretty dang boring in recent weeks. Luckily I have friends who enjoy making fun of me (and each other). I’m so glad Google has indexed this for all time. My kids (and maybe yours) are going to love this stuff. :)

Frickin’ Pam has joined us!! She’s going to get her strudel in a bunch when she sees the harassment that Jeremy has received. On the other hand, perhaps her and Erika can fight a cage match for the dubious of honor of “most easily put down by Josh”. Winner gets a night out with Jeremy at the restaurant of their choice, and he’ll pay. Loser will continue to be slammed by me on geakazoid.com.

So, let’s see, what additional secrets can I expose about Jeremy? He once wrote the word S-E-X in giant letters across a whiteboard in the Computer Lab at college. This may have purposely been captured on a web cam that was always focused on the whiteboard, the joke being that if people checked to see what was going on in the lab from their dorm room, they’d get a surprise.

In fact, if memory serves correctly, Jeremy may have had a partner in that endeavor. There may even be photographic evidence of this act.

Josh, you troublemaker, you. What would be really great is if someone would post that photographic evidence on this site. ;) Would love to see what a “bad boy” Jeremy really is.

  3. *sara*  on November 2nd, 2007

well, mo suprise that pam and erika will soon be battling it out..that jeremy is quite the player…i have all kinds of pictures of him with various ladies…

and in other news–jeremy has in fact posted more due to our continual commenting…almost like he has to keep up or something. (that or he posts when he thinks we’re getting out of hand to re-direct)

  4. *sara*  on November 3rd, 2007

its been quiet here for 14 hours…i came by to check on everyone, and found that i was alone. and while im here, and too lazy to send you an email=jeremy–can i get that extra youthquiz account…and do you still have your quizmachine key? or do you need me to resend it?

  5. Pam  on November 4th, 2007

Sara, sorry to make you feel alone - I was away this weekend!

Josh… I back out… you can keep making fun of me and I will let Erika have Jeremy. I already went out with him a couple of times this year, she should get her turn! Plus the fact that Erika lives in the area would probably de-complicate the process of finding a restaurant both of them could get to, without first having to be on a 7h flight …

Erika, when you go on that date with our dear Jeremy we’ll need to see the pictures! Oh, … and I must warn you. Be sure you know exactely where you want to go, because you might be walking around town for an hour just to end up at the first restaurant you looked at.

  6. erika  on November 5th, 2007

I must say that winning by default is not as fun as normal winning. *sigh* Oh well.

  7. Josh  on November 5th, 2007

Jeremy, how was your date with Lisa this weekend?

Yes ladies, please don’t assume that you’re the only ones vying for his affection.

  8. erika  on November 5th, 2007

Oh well. Whatever makes Jeremy happy.

  9. Pam  on November 5th, 2007

Who in the world is LISA!? I’m starting to get confused. Josh, will you tell me what’s going on here?
Erika, why are you giving up so easily? Don’t you think this guy is worth fighting for? … I mean he’s got a MAC!

  10. erika  on November 5th, 2007

Jeremy is great! I’ll not deny that, and there’s the fact that Sara’s been trying to hook us up for years.
But I’ll let him try his hand at Lisa, while keeping my eyes on the prize that is Jeremy (even if it’s only b/c of his car and computer).
    Sooner or later he’ll see.

  11. erika  on November 5th, 2007

i’m having issues with my work computer!!!! It’s driving me crazy with all this double posting… I’m so sorry…

But Jeremy will fix it…because he’s perfect. :)

  12. Pam  on November 5th, 2007

You know what would even be cooler? If you learned German while he is wasting time with Lisa. You’ll win him back in a heartbeat ;-)

  13. Josh  on November 5th, 2007

All this fawning and tug-of-war over Jeremy is making me physically ill.

I suggest a King Solomon-style solution where I will cut him in half and let each of you choose a half.

I would love to shed some light on his date last weekend, but you two know as much as I do right now–he mentioned it to me via IM right before I left work on Friday PM.

  14. erika  on November 5th, 2007

Josh, I asked him about Lisa a little while ago, via im, and he said that he would be posting about it shortly…he wouldn’t give me any other details.

Pam, I know some German…and I can count to a hundred in German. :) Actually, I’ve always thought that if I were going to learn a language, German would be my first choice.

  15. Josh  on November 5th, 2007

    Pam and Erika:
So I keep hearing comments made about Jeremy being “great” and “perfect”. I would be curious to know what each of your 3 favorite things about Jeremy are. Please, enlighten us.

Additionally, what’s so special about you that Jeremy should choose you for dating versus somebody else?

    Jeremy:
So would you describe your relationship with Lisa as “dating” or “courting”? And why are you leavin’ a brother hanging about who she is and what happened?

  16. *sara*  on November 5th, 2007

hmm…i thought her name was heather. I guess i better follow up, since jeremy obviously isn’t going to post.

I feel like not being able to access jeremy’s blog at work really gets me behind in the loop.

I don’t think that King Solomon is a good idea. Jeremy isn’t really large enough to split in half. In fact, if Pam came to collect her half, she probably wouldn’t even have to pay extra to get him home if she just shoved him in her suitcase.

  17. Jeremy  on November 5th, 2007

Sorry to keep you in the dark Josh, but I’m simply too busy at work, and I’ve already had 3 separate people ask me. Thanks for “letting the cat out of the bag” as it were. Gosh you people are nosy. :) Pretty much why I don’t do a lot of writing about my personal life on my blog. Oh wait. I guess that’s the point.

So anyways, Josh has already tried to seal the deal on this Alisa girl (yep, you got it wrong Josh - I thought you cared?) after 1 “date”. Seriously Josh, were you courting your wife after the first date? Perhaps you were, but maybe I should get your wife’s side of the story in a few weeks. :)

But back to Alisa. I won’t give a whole lot of detail, as I’m fairly certain she’ll read this at some point, but here you go. We met through German class (she’s a student in a different class; she’s in the beginner class). We have a break half way through class so the classes get to hang out. We met there and hit it off. We did go out this past weekend, but I wouldn’t necessarily call it a date (sorry Josh). I guess you’ll just have to wait and see if we go out again. I still haven’t called her. Isn’t there a mandatory three day waiting period or something?

PS. Erika, I deleted your extra comments. Perhaps next time you shouldn’t be so trigger happy with the mouse clicks. :)

  18. Jeremy  on November 5th, 2007

I know you didn’t ask me, but I have to weigh in on my favorite things about Jeremy…

    # Jeremy knows how to cook Hamburger Helper.
    # Jeremy still lives at home.
    # Jeremy knows a really cool dance he usually only pulls out at weddings.

  19. Pam  on November 6th, 2007

I think I already made it clear that I like Jeremy enough, to not let anybody cut him in half for me. Erika can have him - as long as he gets to live. STOP THE MADNESS!

  20. Josh  on November 6th, 2007

If Pam could take a half of Jeremy, she’d take the half that contains his exquisitely formed derrier. I know this because German men wear tight short leather shorts (lederhosen), thus German women like to see male glutes.

HA–You ladies really should see Jeremy’s patented dance move that he whips out at weddings…you might think twice about courting him if you’d seen it. It is literally illegal in some states.

So her name is Alisa eh? I was pretty close. Sorry about spilling the beans, I figured it was common knowledge. As to your quesitoning over whether it was really a date—did you pay for her and/or walk her to her door at the end of the night?

You need to pursue Alisa—just wait one day until you call her for another date, not three days. I’ll see if I can come up with suggestions for what you should do on date #2. So, what does she look like and how’s her personality?

  21. erika  on November 6th, 2007

See, even Josh wants details on this new girl.

And, seriously, Jeremy, if you like this girl, you shouldn’t wait 3 days to call her…You could bring her to the quiz on Saturday….pretty much just so that Sara and I can meet the mystery girl.

  22. Tricia  on November 6th, 2007

I’ve seen this patented dance move. It should be illegal, because it is so much fun!!!!! It always makes me laugh. I tell you no one can do it as well as Driscoll. A wedding with Driscoll wouldn’t be complete without it. However, Drisc I would suggest you wait until your wedding after the vows to use the move to impress your future wife. If done before it may lead her to second thoughts. Just kidding. :)

  23. Jeremy  on November 8th, 2007

Tricia! Welcome to the foray that is my blog. Tread lightly though, Joshua has been making fun of everyone. And don’t think because you know him in real life he’ll go lightly on you. You should see some of the stuff he’s written about me. :)

It’s nice to know I have two people that corroborate my mad dance skills. Thinking about it though, I really need a name for it. Suggestions anyone?

  24. Josh  on November 8th, 2007

    Tricia Fisha,

Welcome aboard. About time to you joined in rather than watching safely from the sidelines.

It seems this thread has become a forum for people to question and discuss Jeremy’s erstwhile lovelife. Apparently he’s got a new possible future Mrs. Driscoll. You know him as well as I do, what words of warning would you have for any such woman?

Jeremy, I must point out that one laughable dance move does not imply that you have “mad dance skills”. Furthermore listening to techno music does to imply that you have rhthym (not saying that I do either, because I don’t)

Trish, you’ve tangoed with Jeremy before, what feelings do you have on the matter?

  25. Tricia  on November 8th, 2007

I have tangoed with Jer before. Jer is not bad. I would have to agree with you Josh though. I wouldn’t consider it “mad dance skills.” No offense Dris but some of my Kindergarten students have more dance moves. Most of the time they are better than me as well. However confidence and the ability not to care to look stupid is a key component to dancing and anyone who can move like Driscoll demonstrates quite a bit of confidence.

As for Josh, you are stirring up alot of trouble on this blog. Be careful or I might have to resort to pulling up some dirt on you! :)

  26. Tricia  on November 8th, 2007

Oh and by the way I am intrigued by this future “Mrs. Driscoll” hmmm. The only tip I may have for her is to watch out for one of Driscolls friends with the initials of JJA. He seems to be a bad influence at times.

  27. Jeremy  on November 8th, 2007

Funny, I always thought his middle name was Samuel. :)

  28. Josh  on November 9th, 2007

    Tricia,

I have never been anything other than a good influence on our Jeremy. In fact, it is I that have molded him into the quasi-mediocre young man he is today.

That said, you’ve tried to teach him a few bad habits over the years yourself. What kind of example is it to eat french fries with mayo right in front of him? You know that Jeremy’s delicate constitution isn’t up for that.

Jeremy, my middle name is Samuel, at least at heart.
