I Hate Getting Tickets
I hate getting parking tickets. I really do. Mostly because they’re easily avoidable, and I somehow seem to continue getting them. I’ve probably gotten 6 or 7 since I’ve owned a car, so that’s probably anywhere form 300-500 dollars wasted with the city of Chicago. Stupid Department of Revenue.
I got a ticket in the mail this past Saturday. The thing that gets me is that it wasn’t even a parking ticket per se. It had to have been given to me while I was driving, because I’ve never parked at the address listed on the ticket, nor was I pulled over for the ticket (maybe I can contest it because he didn’t pull me over; it’s probably not worth it). The ticket was for expired license plates (this is probably the fourth time I’ve gotten that one - one year I got two :)). What sucks is that I knew I needed to do it, had just had a conversation about it, but obviously not in enough time. Actually even if I had gotten my plates renewed right after having the conversation it wouldn’t have mattered since the ticket was from 3 weeks ago.
What’s even more annoying is that I just tried to go by the sticker, and the link off of the State of Illinois’ website is incorrect, because it goes to a not found page. Fantastic. Anyways, it’s just annoying and I needed to vent my frustrations. Eighty dollar renewal for a hundred and thirty, that if I could buy it. Gotta love that.

So I finally found a link that works, but now I need my registration pin code which only exists on the registration form they sent me in the mail. And where is that you ask? An excellent question!

why don’t you just GO to the DMV?? Does your whole world have to be automated? seriously?? thats why america is fat and lazy. people like you who insist on doing it the computer way (not that you per say are fat OR lazy–but you’re part of the problem).
Away with technology I say.

My Ohio tags expired in June, but my license plate frame hides the sticker so no one knew…so I didn’t get a ticket. But I renewed my Ohio tags in in Ohio when I went to visit in October (and I went to the DMV…didn’t do it online). So now I have until June to get Illinois plates.
So Alisa is her name….I think we need more details. I think you should do a whole post on the new love of your life. :)

Jeremy, you should abide by the law or you risk being hauled into jail. In fact, I am ethically bound to report you to Chicago PD for your violation. Enjoy your last few breaths of air as a free man…

Ethically bound? Since when? Let’s be serious. The only reason you moved to Arizona was to run from the law. Easier to slip across the border to Mexico if need be.

Jeremy, look, you may be right about why I live in Arizona. However, I maintain that there is no proof that I wasn’t just borrowing that old lady’s car.
